Common Questions.
Find answers about project fit, budget, coordination, what happens after you reach out, and care after installation. Where an answer depends on your project, we confirm it during discovery.
Thinking About a Project
Residential and commercial projects are a good fit whether they are in early planning, design, construction, renovation, or an existing system. Builder and architect partnerships are welcome, too.
Architectural planning, before framing, is the earliest useful moment: equipment spaces, cable routes, and device locations are easier to coordinate then. Already under construction, renovating, or working with an existing system? We confirm what is practical for your stage during discovery.
Review Work / Practice Studies
Explore residential retrofit and existing-system integration
We start by listening to how you use the space, reviewing any plans or system context you have, and understanding your goals and timing. There is no obligation to arrive with an equipment list.
Helpful, not required: the project location, the stage you are at, any floor plans or drawings, the names of the architect or builder if one is involved, and a rough sense of timing. If you have an existing system, a few photos of the equipment and a list of what frustrates you today are more useful than model numbers.
Devincio is based in Northbrook, Illinois, and serves clients throughout the United States. Sharing the project location helps the team discuss fit and the right coordination approach.
Yes. Whether taking over an aging system or adding capabilities to a completed home, we begin with a system audit of your existing wiring and equipment. From there we recommend a path based on what we find: taking over what works, making selective upgrades, or replacing what cannot be supported reliably.
Planning & Budgeting
Technology budgets vary by property and level of integration, so we do not publish a rate sheet. If the project is a good fit, we propose a tailored design consultation. Discovery comes first; a preliminary budget range is discussed before formal design work begins.
Fixed pricing comes after formal engineering, once the scope is documented precisely enough to price. Until then, any figure we discuss is a range to help you decide whether to proceed.
Yes, they are different steps. The design consultation is where we agree on direction: which rooms, which capabilities, how you want to control them, and an early budget range. Formal engineering comes next and turns that direction into buildable documents.
If you proceed, the formal engineering phase develops the documented scope — system diagrams, a cable-by-cable wiring list, and wall drawings showing where every device sits — and fixed pricing based on those exact requirements. Formal engineering is paid work; how the design consultation is structured for your project is confirmed during discovery.
During the Work
We provide the technology scope, the routes cables need to travel, and the details of concealed equipment your team needs to coordinate the build.
Comprehensive systems often use a centralized rack — a cabinet that holds the shared equipment in one serviceable place — to keep rooms clear. We coordinate ventilation and access early.
After You Reach Out
Your details are saved to our project inquiry system and reviewed by the Devincio team. We follow up by your preferred contact method to schedule a discovery conversation. The sequence from there is the one described above: discovery, then alignment on fit and an early budget range, then formal engineering if you proceed.
The request is logged in our support system and reviewed by the team, who follow up by your preferred contact method. Where your system allows secure remote access, diagnostics begin from our end; anything that needs hands on equipment is arranged as an on-site visit under your service agreement. For a time-sensitive issue, call 847.830.8120 rather than waiting on the form.
Living with the System
After installation, we walk you through the system and can refine settings as you settle into the space. Ongoing care is available through an annual care plan.
When your system is set up for secure remote access, we first look at what can be diagnosed remotely; some issues can be resolved that way. Work that needs a technician on site — replacing a device, tracing a cable, or adjusting equipment — is arranged under the care plan or service agreement that covers your system, not as an open-ended promise.
